This week we:
- examined a poem, looking at theme, rhyme scheme, and figurative language
- did Paragraph of the Week, including a key word outline, rough draft, and good copy
- worked on sentence level writing
- started our new weekly paragraph editing work
- did morphology
- began daily math journal time, where we work on number fluency and problem solving
- continued working on addition and subtraction with decimal numbers, including problems with money
- learned about how to determine point of view in a fiction book
- started working on using direct and indirect characterization to complete a character analysis after reading a piece of fiction
- reviewed parts of speech and completed a journal page on these
- started creating our own personal math textbooks by using our visual journals to make anchor charts
- learned about the phases of matter and how particles work in each stage
- started a Science experiment to show how volume and mass are impacted by phase changes
- got books from the Library
- went to French
