• had some time to finish reading and Science assignments
• learned about the revolution and rotation of the Earth and how the tilt of the Earth creates seasons
• went to David Thompson and made holiday cards for seniors with the Grade 8 Leadership class

• played Paradise in gym class
• learned how to draw angles using a protractor and completed a visual journal page on angles

• worked on researching planets as a part of our Planet Project

• did a vocabulary lesson around the root word struct
• learned about how solar systems, galaxies, and the universe fit together and started a visual journal page to show our understanding

• wrote an exemplar newspaper article together about the kidnapping of Hansel and Gretel
• started the first draft of our independent newspaper articles about the break and enter at the Three Bears house
• had some time for Reading Race
• worked on our MART project, we did rotational tessellations today
• started our Sky Science unit by reviewing the terms emit/reflect, and sorting objects into the night sky as ones that either emit or reflect light

• taled about our upcoming Government Test

• worked on our "MART" project - math and art together, today we did reflection tesselations

• had choice writing time
• went to physical education

• had reading time for the Reading Race while Mrs. Bradley did a reading test and met with a reading group
• started learning about how a bill becomes a law in the provincial legislature
• reviewed translations, rotations, and reflections as a part of our tesselation unit
• started a "MART" project - math and art together

  Today we:

• did two practice run-throughs for the Remembrance Day Assembly
• held the Remembrance Day Assembly for the whole school, we were amazing leaders and created a beautiful and respectful ceremony
• had some catch-up time, we want to finish all incomplete projects before heading into the fall break
• had an extra long recess since we missed gym class this morning.
• did a triangle puzzle in math to prepare for the tesselations we will be doing next week

• learned about the Greek root path and how it helps us understand words with that root
• finished editing and revising our group newspaper article

• learned about the Greek root chron and how it helps us understand words with that root
• started learning about how to write a newspaper article

• went to visit the Grade 8 Leadership class at David Thompson, we got to know our new buddies and we talked about how we can share and celebrate our uniqueness with each other

• went to the costume parade in the gym
• had some catch up time for missing assignments
• did a reading comprehension assignment about local government

• We need shoe boxes, we will be doing a Science project in early December that requires shoe boxes.  If you have an extra one on hand, we would love to have it
• We are visiting the Grade 8 Leadership class at David Thompson school tomorrow from 1:40 - 2:30
