• did Mission Impossible in gym class
• worked on our final drafts of our original short stories
• Finished our class novel and completed plot diagrams to go with the book
• learned about problem and solution non-fiction text structures, and completed reading comprehension work using that structure
• played Bingo to review Greek and Latin roots
• did a major clean up of our book boxes and duotangs

• worked on finding and writing coordinate pairs on all four quadrants of the cartesian plane
• used what we have learned about evidence to work on solving a fictitious bank robbery

• had a virtual Awesome Acadia Assembly
• read aloud a chapter from a new book for First Chapter Friday
• finished our Greek and Latin root word list by learning two new roots
• worked on reading comprehension from chronological structured texts
• used skills from our Evidence and Investigation unit to start solving a bank robbery
• played a review Kahoot with questions from our whole year so far
• helped to set up for Mission Impossible

• started working on Sequential or Chronological non-fiction text structures
• got the background information on the crime that we will be solving at Youthlink, we started filling out our detective notebooks

• learned about how DNA is used in evidence and investigation
• read two chapters aloud from our class novel
• worked on using a graphic organizer with a compare and contrast non-fiction text structure
• worked on our Personal Soundtrack music project

Today and Yesterday we:

• learned about chromatography and investigated who wrote a mean note about Mrs. Bradley smelling like cheese
• worked on a music project for a personal sound-tract

• visited our Grade 8 leadership class at David Thompson to meet our new buddies, we are going to be writing a cookbook together
• started working on our own original short stories, we did our planning today and some of us were able to start our first drafts
• did problem solving with division during Math
• read aloud two chapters for our class novel
• started working on compare and contrast non-fiction texts, learning how to identify them and what we can do to increase our comprehension when reading

• had some time for the Reading Race
• examined level 4 examples of student short stories, to prepare for writing our own
• had French class
• read four chapters from our class novel
• worked on non-fiction reading comprehension with a descriptive text structure about Mount St. Helens

• went to a book tasting in the library, we had a chance to see some of the new books that are coming into the library and to write a list of books we would like to read
• had a chance to finish up missing work
• did some Kahoots to review concepts from this year.
